Things to do in Paşabağ (Monks Valley)
Paşabağ, known as Monks Valley, holds the most striking fairy chimneys in Cappadocia: columns topped with double, and occasionally triple, volcanic caps.
It sits a few hundred metres from Zelve, which is an abandoned village of carved dwellings rather than a rock formation, and it has no church or habitation like Devrent further along the road. From the car park, a flat, accessible path covers the site in 20 to 30 minutes, making it a short stop on the Red Tour rather than a hike.
Göreme is 10 minutes away by road. Light is best early morning or late afternoon; tour buses cluster here in the middle of the day, when the paths around the chimneys get crowded.
