Things to do in Konya

30–7am if you want a proper look at the city and still be back in Cappadocia for a late dinner. Most people come for one reason, the Mevlana Museum, the former lodge of the whirling dervishes and mausoleum of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi, whose green-tiled dome is the city's landmark. Entry runs a few euros and the museum gets busy from mid-morning.

With 6 hours of driving eaten into a single day, you're left with maybe 3-4 hours on the ground, so this is not a trip to combine with anything else. Konya itself is noticeably more conservative than the Cappadocia plateau, with fewer bars and a stricter dress expectation around the mausoleum complex.
